• Put a catch cup under the brewhead
• Lower handle almost to the bottom
• Fill the chamber and pause for a moment
• Lower the handle all the way to drain
• Do this only once for dark roasts
• Twice for mediums
• Three times for lights

• Unscrew stop nut all the way
• Screw gage until it stops (gently)
• Rotate back to desired angle, plus a little
• Advance stop nut
• Gently tighten gage to final angle

• Loosen and retighten the tube
• Remove old seal
• Grease and install new seal

• If piston or gage leaks:
• Unscrew the component
• Inspect o-rings for damage
• If damaged: grease and install new
• If dirty: clean, regrease, reinstall
• Reassemble
• Tip: a cloth can give you more grip during o-ring removal.

• Lock the portafilter in place
• Raise handle until the magnets catch
• Fill chamber with boiling water
• Pull shot per your profile recipe
• Purge excess water into catch cup
